Your afternoon with the symphony
What to expect
What should I wear?
Our belief is that you should feel welcome and comfortable at all of our events. The South Kansas Symphony is located in Winfield, a small town in rural Kansas. Because of this, we know that the standard dress code around town ranges from work jeans with an old t-shirt to your Sunday best. We encourage you to come as you are. If you join us in your church clothes or want to wear a nice dress, fantastic! If you feel more at home in something a little more casual, great! Our goal is to provide an afternoon of high quality entertainment for all, no matter what you're wearing.
Where do I go/where can I park?
SKS concerts are located in the Richardson Performing Arts Center, located inside Christy Administration Building at Southwestern College. There are three main parking areas at the top of the hill, closest to the building, but they do fill up fast. There are additional parking areas around campus, but it does require a trek up hills & stairs. If you are able to park farther away to leave easily accessible spaces open for our elderly or limited-mobility friends, we encourage you to do so. All parking is free.
At certain concerts, we will have a van or golf cart available to help transport patrons to RPAC. Please watch for updates on this availability.

Directions from College St.:
Turn East on Warren Ave - you'll pass four dorms before your next turn
Turn North/Left on King Dr. - between Wallingford Hall & Stewart Fieldhouse
Continue up the hill until you see Christy Administration Building
That's it! There are parking areas on both sides of the building.
Please Note: King Dr. is a one-way street.

Can I bring my kids?
Yes! We aim to make SKS concerts enjoyable for all ages. However, we do ask that you be mindful of other concertgoers and step out of the auditorium if needed. Children under 12 years of age may attend all of our regular season concerts for free (must be accompanied by an adult)!
How long do concerts last?
SKS concerts typically last around an hour to an hour and a half. Be sure to keep an eye on our Facebook page to stay up-to-date on any pre- or post-concert receptions or activities.
